In the context of globalization, the issues of sustainable development of the agro-industrial sector and ensuring competitive advantages in foreign markets have become increasingly relevant. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the conceptual and theoretical foundations of the competitiveness of agro-industrial production. From this perspective, the article theoretically examines the influence of the main factors shaping the competitiveness of agro-industrial production, including the institutional environment, resource potential, innovative development, human capital, and state economic policy.
Internationalisation has become a prime factor of competitiveness in the sphere of higher education, shaping global presence, image and abilities to employ graduates. In the case of emerging economies, it presents an opportunity to enter the global academic communities and be rated in world rankings. The aim of this paper is to address the issue of how the internationalisation enhances the competitiveness of universities in Uzbekistan through the interviews held and by referring to the relevant body representatives of different universities. The results indicate that, as much as Uzbek universities have embraced internationalisation, the challenge in their governance, allocation of resources and language capacity still exist. Internationally affiliated institutions like the Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) and Webster University in Tashkent (WUT) can make use of international networks more efficiently in contrast to nationally based universities, which use strategies based on small steps, including the mobility programmes, and faculty training in foreign countries. The paper supports the view that the current internationalisation in Uzbekistan cannot be considered as a sustainable competitiveness issue unless it is integrated into the processes of teaching, research, and governance in the country.
The article analyzes the economic foundations of Uzbekistan's integration into the international trading system, in particular, the policy of participation in the World Trade Organization. The study reveals the impact of trade agreements on exports, investments and competitiveness. The importance of inclusiveness, institutional coordination and stakeholder participation in the formation of trade policy based on international and regional experience is highlighted. The empirical analysis is carried out using a panel regression model based on data for Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for 2000–2024. The results show that WTO membership increases GDP by an average of 17%. It is also found that WTO membership improves the investment climate, increases export diversification and accelerates institutional reforms. According to the forecast analysis, by 2030, Uzbekistan's GDP could reach 245 billion US dollars under WTO membership. The article also focuses on the potential social and cross-sectoral risks of trade liberalization and provides practical recommendations for a balanced trade policy.
This article develops the theoretical and methodological foundations for a comprehensive assessment of banking service efficiency provided to individuals. The study proposes a multidimensional evaluation framework that integrates traditional financial indicators with customer satisfaction metrics, digital service quality, operational efficiency, risk management level, and institutional sustainability indicators. Furthermore, an integrated performance assessment model is designed to evaluate retail banking services in the context of digital transformation. The research findings contribute to enhancing customer-oriented banking strategies, improving service quality, and strengthening competitiveness in the retail banking sector.
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the role of the digital economy in the socio-economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It examines the institutional foundations of digital transformation, the development of ICT infrastructure, the digitalization of public administration and the private sector, and the implementation of innovative technologies in industry, education, healthcare, and agriculture. Special attention is given to the challenges of digitalization, including digital literacy, cybersecurity, and human capital development. Based on the analysis, the study identifies the key prospects for the further advancement of the digital economy and its impact on sustainable economic growth and the country's competitiveness.
The sustainable development of the national financial market is closely linked to the modern mechanisms of corporate capital formation and the efficiency of the securities market. This study provides a detailed analysis of the integration processes between corporate finance instruments and the capital market infrastructure, and scientifically highlights the impact of the securities market on investment processes. During the research, system analysis, comparative economic analysis, economic-statistical methods, and analysis of the regulatory and legal framework were employed. The results showed that the interaction between corporate finance and the securities market can optimize capital value, expand the investment opportunities of enterprises, and contribute to the sustainable growth of the national economy. Such measures ensure the transparency and competitiveness of the financial system and contribute to its improvement in line with international standards.
This article analyzes the current state and current problems of innovative development of regional infrastructure in our country. The process of modernization of infrastructure and the introduction of innovative solutions plays an important role in increasing the economic stability and competitiveness of regions. Therefore, the study examines the main factors affecting the development of regional infrastructure, existing problems and ways to solve them. The analysis shows that the main obstacles to the implementation of infrastructure projects are the lack of financing, outdated technologies, institutional problems and territorial disparities. The article also analyzes advanced foreign experience and puts forward effective strategies for the formation of innovative infrastructure. The article also develops scientific and practical recommendations for the development of regional infrastructure and highlights its impact on sustainable innovative development. The results of the study can be of practical importance in the processes of regional policy formation and infrastructure planning.
Economic security is a key element of sustainable development, especially in the context of global changes associated with the transition to a «green economy». In the Republic of Uzbekistan, this process is becoming strategically important, given the need to optimize environmental management, increase energy efficiency and introduce innovative technologies. The article examines the main challenges and prospects for ensuring economic security in the context of the transition to a «green economy». Special attention is paid to the issues of economic diversification, the development of renewable energy sources, the improvement of the legislative framework and the strengthening of institutional mechanisms. The presented measures are aimed at creating conditions for sustainable growth, reducing the environmental burden and increasing the competitiveness of the national economy.
