The poverty level is an important indicator of the socio-economic situation in any country. For Uzbekistan, as for many other countries, the problem of poverty remains relevant. This article analyzes the level of poverty in Uzbekistan, its dynamics, the main causes and proposals for reducing poverty in the country. Currently, the study of poverty reduction in conjunction with improving the quality of human capital is relevant at not only the global level, but also one of the most important tasks for the economy of Uzbekistan.

This article covers the concept of poverty, the poverty line, the causes of poverty, the analysis of the current state of poverty in Uzbekistan, the experience of foreign countries in reducing the level of poverty, scientific proposals and practical recommendations aimed at reducing the level of poverty in Uzbekistan.

This article presents a scientific analysis of existing methodologies for assessing poverty levels, examining their advantages and limitations. The analysis revealed that current approaches have shortcomings, including the complexity of data collection at the mahalla level, difficulties in identifying informal income, and excessive reliance on official statistics. Consequently, the author proposes a new, improved methodology that integrates economic and social indicators, based on empirical evidence.

By Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PQ-4400 dated July 23, 2019 ”On measures to increase the popularity of microfinance services“, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan was entrusted with the task of developing a “national strategy for increasing financial popularity”, which provides for expanding the popularity of financial services and increasing the level of financial literacy of business entities, consumer protection in the provision of financial services. The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has developed a national strategy to increase the popularity of financial services for 2021-2023. In this strategy, special emphasis is placed on the issues of entrepreneurship development in the country, income growth, and improving financial literacy of the population as an important tool for poverty reduction. It follows from this that in this monographic study, the issues of improving financial literacy of the population have been scientifically and methodically analyzed and practical suggestions and recommendations have been developed.

This study examines the system of social support for the population in the Republic of Uzbekistan through statistical analysis. The country’s social protection policy is aimed at improving the population’s living standards, increasing employment, and reducing poverty, where official statistical data are of critical importance in assessing its effectiveness. During the research, methods of descriptive and trend analysis were applied using open-access data provided by the Statistical Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Finance, the United Nations (UN), and the World Bank.

Within the framework of these economic reforms, the definition of urgent tasks for “formation of a free competitive environment in the commodity and financial markets”, “popularization of the life insurance network and personal insurance among the population, their large-scale promotion and development of new types of life and personal insurance” is a theoretical analysis of insurance activities in the country- it indicates the need to carry out research work on improving the methodological and practical basis, increasing the level of salinity and quality of insurance services in the structure of financial services.

This article considers the tasks of achieving the 85th goal of the development strategy of New Uzbekistan for the years 2022-2026, the main indicators of the population’s living standard, the basic principles and trends of income growth, focus areas of enhancing the living standard of the population. Moreover, the article reveals the current situation of the level of supply of goods and prospects for the long-term use of the population in Uzbekistan.

In our country, a youth policy has been developed for the younger generation, especially for them to take their place in society, and this policy has been strengthened by a legal basis and is enshrined in our main document, the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a number of regulatory documents, as well as a statement of research aimed at ensuring profitability in increasing population entrepreneurship.

Scientific proposals and practical recommendations are given, paying attention to issues such as the current situation and solutions observed in the population, the scientific potential of the population, the situation in education, assistance to the population with poor social status, providing them with modern education in achieving a level of spiritual maturity, and especially providing them with employment.
