ECONOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTIVE USE OF INVESTMENTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REPUBLIC'S ECONOMY
Abdulla Almuradov , Aziza Asrorova

This paper comprehensively examines the theoretical and practical aspects of the efficient use of investments in the development of the national economy based on an econometric approach. The study utilizes macroeconomic data for the period 2000–2024 to conduct an in-depth analysis of the impact of investment volume, employment level, and export volume on Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The methodological framework includes correlation analysis, construction of a multiple regression model, evaluation of parameter significance using t-statistics, assessment of overall model adequacy through the F-test, and testing for autocorrelation using the Durbin–Watson statistic. All econometric computations and model estimations were carried out using the modern statistical software environment R Studio. The empirical results demonstrate that investments have a strong positive and statistically significant effect on economic growth, as measured by GDP. Based on the findings, a set of practical recommendations has been developed aimed at improving the efficiency of investment utilization, optimizing their allocation across economic sectors, and enhancing investment policy.

QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF WATER SCARCITY ON THE ECONOMY
Sarvar Mamasoliyev

This study used econometric panel models to examine the influence of water shortage on economic growth in Central Asian countries. To evaluate long-term panel data, we used a pooled regression model, a fixed effect model, and a random effect model on annual data from 1990 to 2023 across five nations. After creating the models, we ran diagnostic tests using several statistical techniques. After analyzing the models listed above, we determined that the Pooled regression model is best suited to our panel data. Based on the indicators of this model, it was discovered that increased water shortage in Central Asian countries had a negative impact on economic growth. Each unit increase in water scarcity causes a 0.0166 unit loss in GDP. The findings suggest that countries experiencing severe water scarcity should prioritize water resource management and establish a water conservation program that includes the construction of infrastructure to alleviate the shortage.

COST EFFICIENCY ANALYSIS OF PUBLIC HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTES
Shukhrat Kholmuminov

The resource dependency theory (RDT) is used to guide an empirical analysis of the higher education system in Uzbekistan. The regression models are applied to a panel dataset consisting of 62 Uzbek higher education institutions, covering the period 2000-2013, to examine the determinants of the expenditure decisions made by institutions. The key hypothesis is concerned with the relationship between the share of revenue from tuition fees and the share of expenditure spent on teaching. The analysis attempts to control for unobserved heterogeneity through the inclusion of fixed effects. Instrumental variables estimation is used to address the potential endogeneity of the relationship between these two variables. The main finding is that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between the share of revenue from tuition fees and the share of expenditure spent on teaching, even after other factors are held contact, which is consistent with a core premise of RDT.

DETERMINANTS OF UZBEKISTANʼS EXPORT GROWTH: AN ANALYSIS OF PRODUCT AND MARKET DIVERSIFICATION
Shаvkаt Оtаmurоdоv , Nasiba Eshqulova

This paper presents an empirical analysis of Uzbekistanʼs export structural diversification during 2017–2024. Horizontal diversification is measured by the number of exported products and the Herfindahl–Hirschman Index, while vertical diversification is evaluated through average unit export values. Regression results reveal that an increase in the number of exported products significantly boosts export volume, especially for trade with neighboring countries. For distant markets, both product variety and higher value-added goods play an important role, emphasizing the need to promote vertical diversification. The study also finds a high dependency on a limited number of export items, particularly gold. Given Uzbekistanʼs landlocked position and high transport costs, shifting toward processed, value-added, and technologically advanced exports is essential for sustainable growth.

ENSURING FINANCIAL STABILITY IN AGRICULTURAL FINANCING THROUGH THE INTEGRATION OF BUDGETARY, INSURANCE AND BANKING MECHANISMS
Rustam Imomov

This article examines how financial stability in agriculture can be enhanced through the integration of budgetary, insurance and banking mechanisms of agricultural financing. The main purpose of the study is to assess the synergistic effect of combining government budget support, agricultural insurance and commercial bank lending in the context of Uzbekistan’s rural sector. The methodological framework includes a literature review, correlation and regression analysis, an insurance pricing model, credit risk analysis and the assessment of a farm capitalization index. The empirical database is built using statistics from international organizations such as the IMF, FAO, World Bank and OECD, as well as official data from Uzbekistan. The results show that higher public agricultural expenditure reduces the volatility of agricultural growth, expanded insurance coverage improves farmers’ access to credit, and insured loans exhibit significantly lower default probabilities. The relatively low farm capitalization index indicates that Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector is undercapitalized and constrained in terms of long-term investments. The authors argue that the integrated use of budgetary support, insurance schemes and bank lending should be viewed as a strategic direction for strengthening financial stability in agriculture and propose practical policy recommendations for agricultural and financial authorities.
