THE IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION ON TOURISM EDUCATION: ENHANCING WORKFORCE COMPETENCIES FOR THE DIGITAL AGE

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of digitalization on tourism education and how it enhances workforce competencies for the digital age. A quantitative methodology was employed, utilizing an online survey distributed to 62 respondents, including students, teachers, and professionals in tourism, to gather insights on digital skills and educational adaptations in the sector. The findings reveal that digitalization has significantly transformed tourism education, with respondents emphasizing the importance of digital tools, AI, and personalized services.


The originality of this study lies in its exploration of emerging digital competencies required in the tourism workforce and its contribution to understanding how educational institutions can adapt to the evolving digital demands. It highlights the need for continuous skill development, digital literacy, and the integration of advanced technologies in tourism education to ensure competitiveness in the modern industry.

The basic approach of the concept of social and ethical marketing is to determine the needs, desires and interests of the target markets, to ensure the desired level of satisfaction in effective ways aimed at maintaining and increasing the well-being of the consumer and society as a whole. The implementation of the social and ethical marketing concept requires a balance of three factors: the profit of the producing organization (industry, state), purchasing needs and the interests of society. There are also five basic principles of ethical marketing. It is necessary to create evaluation metrics to analyze the state of compliance with the basic principles of ethical marketing in the practice of all enterprises.

The article considers an important issue of training personnel with a scientific degree and the possibilities in the field of using statistical analysis to forecast this process. The use of statistical analysis to study and forecast the processes of training personnel with a scientific degree allows to significantly improve the efficiency of managing this process, optimize training costs, and ensure more accurate planning of the need for scientific personnel. Using the information from this research, it is possible to develop a system for training personnel with a scientific degree and to increase their competitiveness in the labor market.
