At the present stage of the development of the world economy, the development of economic policy features that contribute to the socio-economic sustainable development of regions and their radical implementation into real life is becoming increasingly important every day. Increasing the possibilities of attracting foreign direct investment in the spheres and sectors of the economy, modernization of industrial enterprises, introduction of advanced foreign equipment and technologies into production is largely due to the creation of special economic zones, including small industrial ones. Based on this, the chosen research topic is becoming relevant today.
This article provides recommendations for developing innovative methods to assess the environmental impact of industrial enterprise development by examining international experiences, various methodologies, regulatory frameworks, and advanced global practices in environmental impact assessment. It also analyzes key global indicators related to industry and waste management, as well as year-by-year statistical data on pollutant emissions released into the atmosphere by industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, the article identifies several systemic challenges in the process of reducing the environmental impact of industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan and offers recommendations for addressing these issues.
This article examines the impact of agro-industrial integration on the economic efficiency of Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector using econometric methods based on panel data covering 13 regions. The main indices of agro-industrial integration are represented by the shares of farm households, dekhkan and subsidiary farms, and agricultural organizations in the total volume of agricultural output. Panel regression results confirm a positive and statistically significant effect of integration indicators on agricultural output growth rates. The findings suggest that institutional strengthening of agro-industrial integration creates opportunities to enhance agricultural sector efficiency, increase farmers’ incomes, and promote rural employment.
In order to enhance regional competitiveness, the development of industrial clusters is regarded as an important strategic direction. This article analyzes, based on a review of literature and statistical data, the theoretical foundations of clustering and Uzbekistan’s experience in implementing industrial clusters. The research results indicate that industrial clusters increase production efficiency in regions, accelerate innovation, and create a basis for the formation of new business entities. The author provides recommendations for the effective use of clustering to improve regional competitiveness.

In these countries, the university-business and state-business principles were mainly used, that is, it was considered important to offer universities scientific developments and startup projects for the production of innovative products in order to bring industry and business to a new level. This process has retained its position even now. Also, the fact that the state strongly protects and encourages business entities in these countries is cited as the most important factor in bringing industry and business to a new level, and analyses show that this is exactly what happens in practice. For us, we have confirmed that the university-business, state-business principle is the most important factor in the development of industry and business.
The article analyzes current issues of economic security in industrial clusters of the Republic of Uzbekistan using the example of cotton and textile clusters. The essence of economic security is studied from a theoretical point of view and the importance of its assessment is described. This article presents a macro-level econometric analysis of the direct and indirect effects of the textile industry on air pollution in Uzbekistan. The analysis incorporates key variables, including electricity supply across the entire industrial sector, textile production output, and the share of the textile industry in total industrial activity. The study examines observed deviations in pollution levels and identifies underlying economic and structural factors. Based on the findings, the article provides policy-oriented recommendations and strategic measures aimed at mitigating environmental impacts and reducing air pollution in Uzbekistan.
This paper provides an empirical analysis of the impact of economic growth, industrial development, foreign direct investment, and energy consumption on carbon dioxide emissions in Uzbekistan over the period 1991-2024, employing the ARDL and ECM frameworks. The results indicate that, in both the long and short run, economic growth is associated with improvements in environmental efficiency, whereas foreign direct investment is predominantly concentrated in emission-intensive sectors. The findings highlight the need to enhance industrial policy through strengthened institutional and investment mechanisms.
