THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY IN GENERAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

This article analyzes the role of the digital economy in modern macroeconomic development from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. It examines the impact of digital technologies, platforms, e-commerce, and fintech on economic growth, investment processes, employment, and sustainable development. The findings confirm the strategic importance of the digital economy in enhancing productivity, innovation, and human capital development, and provide practical recommendations for the development of digital infrastructure and institutional mechanisms
